Happy Thanksgiving from Catuogno & StenTel!
Here at Catuogno Court Reporting we thought we'd round out the week with a little bit of Thanksgiving news and trivia for our readers. As has become a beloved Thanksgiving tradition, the Presidential Turkey Pardon took place this morning with President Obama pardoning Liberty the Turkey thus saving the bird from the fate of so many of its feathered brethren.
Did you know that every year two turkeys actually get the presidential pardon? It seems that even turkeys can get stage fright and if the star of the show decides to be a diva, the understudy must step in! This year's star Liberty took the spotlight like a pro and the understudy, Peace, got to relax.

Some other fun Thanksgiving Facts:
-Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird of the United States (I guess the bald eagle seemed more impressive!)
- The first Thanksgiving celebration lasted 3 days
- Sarah Josepha Hale, author of "Mary Had A Little Lamb" and an American magazine editor, persuaded Abraham Lincoln to declare Thanksgiving a national holiday.
If you have any fun Thanksgiving facts we'd love to hear them! From all of us here at Catuogno Court Reporting & StenTel Transcription:
